LDC Round 9: Immortals beat Del Patio by one after a very close game

The Regular Season in LDC just ended. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

Fourth-ranked Del Patio (3-7) was very close to win a game against first ranked Immortals (8-1) in Santiago on Saturday. Immortals managed to secure only one-point victory 100-99. However their fans expected easier game. Immortals outrebounded Del Patio 44-32 including 22 on the offensive glass. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Immortals made 7 blocks. It was a good game for forward Angel Rivas (198-1993) who saved his team from a defeat with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds. American forward James Milton (203-1992, college: Stevenson) contributed with 20 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Brahian Mendez answered with 29 points and 6 rebounds for Del Patio. Immortals have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain first place with 8-1 record. Del Patio lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with seven games lost.
Important game to mention about took place in . Second ranked Santiago Max (6-4) saved a 1-point victory on the road edging 4th placed Del Patio (3-7) 94-93 in the game for the third place. Forward Franklyn Jaquez (197-1997) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and Carlos Martinez chipped in 26 points and 5 rebounds. The best for the losing side was Jean-Karlo Iciano (189-1997, college: Dyersburg St.) with 28 points and 7 rebounds. Despite that victory Santiago Max went down to third position due to points difference. Del Patio lost their third game in a row. They keep the fourth place with seven games lost.
A very close game took place in Santiago between Capitanes and Santiago Max. Third ranked Capitanes (6-3) got a very close home victory over second-best Santiago Max (6-4). Capitanes managed to escape with a 1-point win 100-99 in the fight for the second place. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Santiago Max. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Oliver Ferreira nailed 27 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals for the winning side. Franklyn Sabater came up with 20 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists for Santiago Max in the defeat. The victory was the third consecutive win for Capitanes. They moved-up to second place. Santiago Max at the other side dropped to the third position with four games lost.

There were no big surprises in other games of round 9: Fenix smashed Santiago Basket on the road 100-80. Santiago Basket was destroyed by Fenix on its own court 80-100. Sameji was outscored by Evolve OL in a road game 100-80.
The most impressive performance of 9th round was 11 points, 15 rebounds and 7 assists by Adris Rodriguez of Capitanes.



Del Patio - Santiago Max 93-94

Important game to mention about took place in . Second ranked Santiago Max (6-4) saved a 1-point victory on the road edging 4th placed Del Patio (3-7) 94-93 in the game for the third place.
